How to Achieve, Using 2 Simple Tasks!

Well we are in a New Year and we have left a few hard years behind us. I hope the new year has started well for you.

With a New Year often comes new goals and opportunities.

Maybe this is the year when you are looking forward to a new job and preparing for interviews.

Maybe you are finishing your schooling and you have exams in your future.

Maybe you are launching into a new business.

Maybe you are going to be teaching large groups or be a guest speaker, or maybe you might be preparing for performances.

What ever opportunities there are coming up for you, there is an element of presentation or performance required. So how are you going to prepare for that? How are you going to ensure that you present professionally, that you confidently.ooze the skills required? What is required to become successful in your quest?

SIMPLY, HONEST HARD WORK AND A POSITIVE MINDSET

Success comes to those who focus on their goals, not on obstacles.

We need to work jolly hard and be determined to succeed. There will be many tasks to complete and  lots of knowledge to learn and understand. If we need help, then we need to research and be willing to reach out to those who can help. We need to have all our ducks in a row, work through them step by step AND remind ourselves that if we do the work we will succeed.

WE NEED TO HOLD FIRM TO THAT POSITIVE MINDSET

Positive mindset can easily be developed, no matter who we are or what our background is. Neuroplasticity is a thing. We can literally re-wire our brain, quieten down the negative ‘monkey-chatter’ and instead develop a positive self-talk and belief in ourselves that will help us succeed.

Negative thoughts that all of us have experienced can slow our learning and preparation right down. It can cause everything we are preparing for to ground to a halt. There are many exercises we can do to over ride this negative default of our brain. I’d like to share one that you can begin right away. It’s really simple but it works.

EVERYTIME YOU REALISE YOU ARE THINKING NEGATIVE THOUGHTS, STOP THEM.

EVERYTIME YOU RECOGNISE THAT PESKY MONKEY CHATTERING AWAY IN YOUR EAR, PUSH HIM OFF YOUR SHOULDER.

THEN SIMPLY REPLACE THAT NEGATIVE THOUGHT OR IDEA WITH A POSITIVE ONE. THAT’S IT!

That’s all you have to do! Every time you do this exercise you are re-wiring your brain and you are learning to talk positively to yourself and to others by default.

Now this exercise is not going to work overnight, on its own, just as you are not going to wake up tomorrow and be an amazing performer or nail that interview, without a lot of preparation beforehand. It’s only through honest hard work as you prepare for success, along with developing a healthy positive mindset, over time, that eventually you will be ready for the interview, performance or presentation, and you will be successful.
